Encrypto: Secure Your Files App Reviews

This is a great app, and I can see it being super helpful in places like attorney’s offices or for medical documents that need to be sent fast and securely. Here’s how this app works: * Drag in the file * Make up a password * Leave a password hint for the reciever * Drag or send the file wherever you need! It’s tightly integrated with MacPaw’s Hider 2 app, but you do NOT need to use it. Encrypto works perfectly without it.

I love the App. But i wish their was a iOS App and it was iOS supported. Otherwise the app is fantastic!

Nice to be able to easily secure data on my computer

I used it and setup a lot of my files to be encrypted. Went to decrypt one and it accepted my password but took forever to decrypt and never completed. the folder I encrypted was onlt 107mb. Luckily I had a backup of the original file to revert back to. Not using anymore.

Beautifully executed, congratulations! My main concern with this is longevity. I have used gpg with symmetrical encryption to encrypt my files until today. Not as GUI friendly, but as least I know I will die, and my files will still be of use. Encrypto looks great, but how long will it last? How long will it be updated? Are files encrypted with it last one or two generations, at least? Thanks!

Just downloaded, but so far it seems great. Easy to use, a level of security that makes me happy, and comfortable. Thanks for another great app.

I love this product. It’s simple to use and effective. I would recommend this product to everyone. I’ve been using it a few weeks no and have experience no issues with it’s abilities or performance. Thanks MacPaw for another great product.

I have to admit that I did NOT get in contact with their customer support. I don’t have time to work on problems with software I try and since most work, I don’t think it’s just me. I tried this using .pdf’s with two people. One had a Windows computer and one a MAC. The MAC could not open the file and the Windows opened without a password. My two cents worth….

I’ve been using PGP since the time of the dinosaurs. Today, I decided to install it on another computer and found that there is no longer a free version available. I use encryption for files on my own computers and very rarely to send encrypted email. Encrypto doesn’t offer the excellent Public Key Encryption that makes PGP so useful for encrypted email, but it beats the hell out of paying Symantec $175 for what I’ve been doing for free. If I have to send an encrypted email, I’ll call the recipient and give him the key. Encrypto does what it’s supposed to do, does it easily, and does it for free.

This application is by far, one of my favorites on my Mac! The team has clearly done such a wonderful job, and I use it just about every day in my profession. It makes me happy to know that all the data I pass around is secure and that prying eyes would have a hard time cracking the files.

I had been using another encryption app until I discovered Encrypto. I love the ease of use, but would appreciate a bit more granularity in the options. For example, I don’t send files out, so perhaps allowing for a default “save” process to save an extra step when encrypting would be nice. Keep up the great work. This app is a winner!

Does exactly what it says it does and does it well, beautiful design and very responsive. To sum it up I love this little app.

Great app, pretty to look at, runs perfectly, and keeps all those prying eyes OUT. Turns all my files into 007 “eyes only” docs. Perfect.

This app is so simple to use, just drag ’n drop, quick encryption. No drives to mount, etc like Boxcryptor and Knox.

The first app that I use my password that it didnt open up before I could put my pass Word in. All the other ones Ive tried” open up whit expander in and no password. Works great. the app Will not open till you use your password.

the new release (1.2.1) crashes a lot on launch.

Encrypto is easy to use. It is basic, but gets the job done. There are a lot of free solutions that offer more features and work better (are waaay better at what they do), but are not as easy to use. Encrypto strikes a fair balance between payed convenience, mediocre features, and not getting in the way of your tasks. Encrypto is ideal in cases where a little security is needed, but you would not otherwise bother to use any of the tried and true methods.

I have been using this application for a couple months now. It’s simple, it’s well designed. It does everything it says it does. I ran a kali pen-test on one of the encrypted files and the security was tight. It’s not a unique encryption but it doesn’t add in any flaws either. Overall, would recommend.

This free but powerful and simple UI, helps to keep my files and information encrypted, now-a-days having everythingon your computer and devices password protected helps alot. Thanks to MacPaw for developing another useful and flawless designed app!
